About HVAC in Friday Harbor, WA

Most homes in Friday Harbor, WA were built when cooling was not considered necessary.

That assumption held for a long time and no longer does. Houses here often have excellent heating and no air conditioning at all, and the recent run of hot summers has left people trying to solve in July a problem the building never anticipated. Pao Card works on both halves of that: making existing heating efficient, and adding cooling to homes that were never designed for it.

What we do

• Heat pumps. In this climate they make more sense than almost anywhere. Winters are mild enough that a heat pump handles heating efficiently all season, and the same equipment provides the cooling the house lacks. One system, both jobs.
• Ductless systems. Many homes here have no ductwork, or have ducts serving only part of the house. Ductless indoor units avoid tearing the building apart to add cooling.
• Repair and maintenance. Filters, coils, refrigerant charge, and the electrical components that fail quietly until the first hot week exposes them.
• Air quality. Wildfire smoke has become a genuine seasonal issue, and filtration has to be matched to what the blower can handle.

How we work

Written pricing before work begins. Technicians who explain what they found and show you the component. Honest guidance about whether adding cooling is straightforward in your building or genuinely awkward.
